CKay took his first step when he was introduced to a production software now known as Fruity Loops studio by his friend. Later along with his three friends, he made a band.
He decided to relocate to Lagos for more opportunities in 2014. He has been working with Chocolate City, a member of the Warner Music Group since 2015. In the following year, he released his promotional single titled “Bad Musician Bad Producer”.
Along with his single, he made instrumental available for free downloads across all Nigerian blogs for commercial use such as covers, club, and airplay. For the same, he was nominated by TNMA which was his first big achievement.
His debut EP titled “WTFiCKay” included five songs that featured various artists. His song “Container” became a breakthrough which is an Afrobeat record influenced by the South African gwara gwara dance style.
A song from his second extended play CKay the First called “Love Nwantiti” went viral on social media and became an international hit. It was in the charts of Europe, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand, and also entered the US Billboard Hot 100.
He was featured in Ayra Starr‘s debut studio album 19 & Dangerous song “Beggie Beggie”. In 2021, he became the first African musician to reach 20 million Spotify listeners.
