A Canadian-based actor, Simu Liu, entered the industry a few years back. Being an underrated side actor for years, he finally gained the limelight with the worldwide blockbuster Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Simu Liu was born in Harbin, China, to Asian parents. He is the only child of Zhenning and Zheng Liu, both of whom studied engineering and became aerospace engineers.
When Simu was five years old, his father went to the USA to pursue a PhD while his mother worked in Beijing. Later, his family immigrated to Canada, and he grew up in Mississauga, Ontario.

Career / Fashion And Style
After completing his studies, Simu Liu worked as an accountant at Deloitte for nine months. While exploring other career options, he decided to become an actor and, hence, started as a stuntman.
As a stuntman, he made an appearance in the movie Pacific Rim and Avicii’s music video “I Could Be the One”. In a minor role, he was seen in Nikita and Beauty and the Beast.
In 2015, he was cast in a crime drama series, Blood and Water, in a recurring role. For the same, he received nominations at the ACTRA Awards and Canadian Screen Awards.
His first lead role was CBC Television sitcom Kim’s Convenience as Jung Kim. He has also worked in sci-fi movies like Dark Matter and The Expanse.
He became well-known throughout the world in 2019 for playing the superhero Shang-Chi in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
As a voice actor, he also did a Netflix anime film, “Bright: Samurai Soul”. He was also cast in a film, Barbie, a thriller film, Hello Stranger, and a guest appearance in Netflix’s short, Ronny Chieng Takes Chinatown.
