As of his career, He started off as a handball player. Until 2003, he was a member of Celje Pivovarna Lasko. He joined BM Ciudad Real in 2003 and has won the EHF Champions League three times as a member of the club. He was on loan to THW Kiel in 2007. He joined RK Celje in 2009 and played there until 2011.
In 2011, he was loaned out to HC Shoppingcity Seiersburg during his time with RK Celje. He joined SC Magdeburg in 2011 and played there until 2013. He joined TuS N-Lubbecke in 2013 and played for the club for two years. After two years with TuS N-Lubbecke, he joined RETCOFF HSG Graz in 2015 and stayed until 2018.
